The Name of Death is a short story in the Thrice Nine Legends Saga, taking place in 1351 CE in the world of Aenar. Taking note of the date for this story is important, because it is the latest story to date among all the stories in the world. Anaerfell (46 CE), Melkorka (124 CE), Strong Armed (1158 CE), When Blood Falls (1347 CE), & Dyndaer (1350 CE) all precede this story.
The Name of Death bridges the one-year gap between Dyndaer and Maharia (1352 CE)–the final novel in the Kaelandur Series yet to be released in 2017. The Name of Death is a stand-alone story, but it may require the reader to have some understanding of the world of Aenar. This short story introduces the Uvil race, which we hear about in Dyndaer but have not encountered. The Uvil have had a premonition that the world is changing and they should be warring against the Anshedar (humans) in the North. You follow Drada Koehn in the story as she seeks the Name of Death to assure her peoples’ victory in the war.
