This is the kind of image fairy tales and fantasy stories are made of. The magic of the forest comes out at the heart of its depths, when there is no one around to see. Does the Green Man emerge every day, or is this a rare occurrence that only happens on special days, or when certain conditions are met? He is conversing with a mossy figure emerging from the water. Wouldn’t you give anything to know what they are saying? I’ll bet if you listen closely enough you can find out.
