New This Week: Sick Again :( | Renee Scattergood

Originally posted by Renee Scattergood:

I ended up not getting much done last week. Early in the week, I got sick again, so I spent most of the week sleeping. Then I spent most of the weekend cleaning, so the house doesn’t become a disaster zone again. I work better in a clean house anyway.
I did get some work done on the new short story I’m working on. I’ve started the planning on it. It’s going to be a fun one to write. It might even make a good novel or novella series down the road. It’s a young adult science fantasy story, but I don’t want to give much more away at the moment. I think I’ll definitely do a survey with that one to find out if readers want more of the story.
I’ve also redone my schedule a bit so that my daily tasks are more specific. I might have an easier time focusing doing it that way. Most days I look at “plan story” on the list, and I feel too tired and overwhelmed to try and figure out where I’m supposed to start. So if I set specific jobs, I won’t have to think about what I’m supposed to be doing.
So this week, I’m essentially setting the same goals as last week (with one extra):
  • Write 4 Chapters in A God’s Deception Book 2
  • Plan Shadow Stalker Episodes 21 – 24 (Steps 1 – 8 in my planning process)
  • Plan a new short story (Steps 3 – 6 in my planning process)
  • Plan and write a flash fiction story
  • Plan and begin writing the March short story for the 12 Short Stories challenge (The writing prompt is “A Celebration” and it has to be 2500 words long)
Wish me luck (mostly that I’ll stay healthy this week)!
