New This Week: A Run of Bad Luck #WIP | Renee Scattergood

You know that short story I’ve been working on? Well, I was nearly done with the first draft and then suddenly I couldn’t find the Scrivener file. Even my backup copy was gone. The file with the character development info was still there, but everything else was gone. So now I have to start over. Ugh…

That’s okay though. I’ll get there. I’m nearly finished with the first draft of Shadow Stalker Episode 24. Then I can start the editing. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to publish Episode 21 by August. *crossing my fingers*

Emergence is coming along. There’s so much involved in this story that the planning process is taking longer than I expected, but I’m up to Step 7 on that one, which involves putting the events in order so I can work out the plot holes, subplots, and write the scenes later.

As far as shorter works, as I mentioned, I’m starting over with my short story. I’m also working on another 12 Short Stories Challenge story for May. This month the prompt is “distinctive markings” and I have to write 1200 words. I’m a bit over 300 words into the story now and should be done with it by the end of the week. I also finished my last Flash Fiction story, The Doppelganger, and I’ll be working on a new one this week.

Also, I’m nearly done with the first draft of A God’s Deception Book 2. I should be done with it by next week.

Oh, and I’ve rearranged my schedule again. I need to do that every once in a while to keep things feeling new. I also wanted more writing time, so I changed it so that I’m writing Monday through Friday now. Just adding one more writing day has taken weeks off of some of my writing projects. So they’ll get done sooner than I originally planned for.

So here are this week’s goals:
  • Finish the first draft of Shadow Stalker Episode 24
  • Work on Step 7 of the planning process for Emergence
  • Finish the first draft of the 12 Short Stories Challenge story
  • Do up to Step 7 of the planning process for the new short story
  • Write and edit a new flash fiction story
  • Write Chapters 23 through 30 in AGD
  • Write Steps 8 through 11 for my Blog Series

Wish me luck! C-ya next week!
